Sometimes we all need a little sweet treat, whether that is for an afternoon treat with a cup of tea, or relaxing in the evening with a good book or film. Being at home on lockdown, means I have some spare time on a Saturday morning for some baking. These easy chocolate rice Krispy marshmallow squares were the first on my list.
If you are looking for a quick treat to make for everyone, this recipe for easy chocolate rice Krispy marshmallow squares is ideal. It makes 9 large squares or 16 smaller treat bites.
Ingredients
- 150 g Chocolate Rice Krispies
- 100 g Unsalted Butter
- 300 g Milk Chocolate
- 100 g Mini Marshmallows
Method
- Line a 21 cm baking tin with baking paper
- In a large pan melt the butter, marshmallows (save a few for decoration), and 100 g of the chocolate.
- When melted add the chocolate rice Krispies and stir in until fully combined.
- Pour the mixture into the lined baking tin and level with the back of a spoon.
- Melt the remaining chocolate in a bowl over a pan of simmering water. Stirring until fully melted.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the chocolate rice Krispies, spread evenly, and add the marshmallows on top.
- Leave to set.
Alternative treats – you could swap the chocolate rice Krispies for cornflakes, or add chocolate decorations to the squares.
